According to Nielsen’s Music 360 2014 study, 93% of the U.S. population spends more than 25 hours each week listening to music.
With all of the time that we spend listening to music, it comes as no surprise that what we listen to can impact our mental, emotional, and physical state of being. Not only that, but the music we ingest has the ability to influence our thought processes. Learn these 5 tips to implement into your songwriting technique so that you can help and/or teach others with the things that you say in your music.
In this webinar, I will discuss 5 tips that I personally use when writing music to make the biggest impact with my art. I will first highlight what it means to be influential and give some examples of artists that have used their lyrics for influence. (Bob Marley, James Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Nina Simone, etc) I will also briefly discuss the importance of lyrics and how they are gaining more specific attention such as with Rap Genius’ Behind the Lyrics videos. I will discuss and expand on the following five tips:
- Balance (Good/Bad , Yin/Yang)
- Sonically Pleasing
- Topic Choice
- Vulnerability of the Artist
The webinar will be hosted on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at 7:00 PM CST and should take no more than 30 minutes of your attention. The event will be hosted by myself, Eimaral Sol. I am an artist dedicated to using my talents and the things I am passionate about to spread knowledge, love, and acceptance of others and oneself.
To some people, music is just another form of art. To most music is a way of life. A song can feel like a familiar place and often a song can create a feeling of familiarity that creates a connection between artist and audience and allows an artist to build a relationship with their listeners. When artists are vulnerable and share their growth, knowledge, and experiences with their audience it can make a tremendous impact on the kind of engagement they have with their listeners. Artists are people all the same and I believe it is necessary to utilize our platform to make a positive change in the world we live in. What impact has music had on your life?
